- Scuppernong Sprouts 4-H Club is the beginning of our youngest members' 4-H journey. Members will learn what it means to be in 4-H, how to run a meeting, and take part in citizenship activities, all while "learning by doing!"

- Cookie Rookies 4-H Club members will develop culinary skills while learning new, healthy recipes.

- Location/Time: Third Wednesday of the month; 3:45-5:00 pm @ Extension Office.
- Fowl Play 4-H Club is our newest addition, launching in the 2025–2026 program year. This club will introduce youth to the 4-H program while providing hands-on learning experiences in poultry production. Members will explore topics such as egg quality, the differences between layers and broilers, and we'll discuss showing turkeys at the NC State Fair.

- Location/Time: Fourth Friday of the month; 5:00-6:00 pm @ Extension Office. *In November and December, we'll meet on the Third Friday.
- Growing Clovers 4-H Club is the next step for our members' in their 4-H journey. Members will expand on their knowledge of running a meeting and participate in more challenging activities in leadership, citizenship, and community service.

- Herd That 4-H Club is for our young people who loves animals. Members will increase their knowledge of animal husbandry, showmanship, livestock judging, and more. They'll discuss from chickens to steers.

- Location/Times: Third Tuesday of the month; 6:30-7:30 pm @ Extension Office.
- Scuppernong Sportsmen 4-H Club is all things hunting and fishing! Members will participate in hunter and boating safety, fishing, hunting, shooting, and plant/animal ID!

- Ages: 7th-12th grade
- Location/Times: First Thursday of the month; 7:00-8:00 pm @ Extension Office. *Some activities may be hosted on Saturdays.
- 4-H Teen Council is active in planning and conducting county 4-H events. Meetings, committee work and other activities are ways for the council to involve youth in the affairs of 4-H.

- Location/Times: Last Tuesday of the month; 3:45-3:45 pm @ Extension Office.
*Dates, locations, and times may change based on club leaders’ availability. Leaders will notify club members promptly of any updates.
*Clubs meeting at 4:00 PM are scheduled as after-school meetings so members can take the bus and be dropped off at the Extension Office. Pick-up is required by 5:15 PM.
SPIN Clubs
SPIN (Special Interest) Clubs are shorter, focused versions of our traditional clubs. They meet weekly for six weeks and concentrate on a specific topic, with meetings centered on hands-on activities rather than parliamentary procedures.
- The Mad Scientists 4‑H Club focuses on our Electric Program. 4‑H Electric Congress, an elite event sponsored by North Carolina power companies, introduces youth to the field of electricity. This club prepares members to participate in the event. For more information, visit the 4-H Electric Program. Meetings will begin November 6, 2025.

- The Picture Perfect 4‑H Club focuses on photography, with an emphasis on the Dr. Kim Ingold North Carolina State 4‑H Photography Contest. Meetings begin February 19, 2026.

Starting 4-H Club!
We welcome the creation of additional clubs in Tyrrell County! Each club requires at least five youth from three different families and two dedicated adult volunteers. Please review the Club Leader Role Description. Clubs can explore a wide range of topics, including science, livestock, service projects, robotics, art, and more.
