June was a busy and rewarding month for our members, filled with meaningful opportunities for learning, leadership, and hands-on experiences. Youth visited Hardly Farm to learn about tree farming and alpacas; participated in a weeklong Water Safety Camp; and spent an unforgettable week at the Betsy-Jeff Penn 4-H Educational Center in Reidsville. They also expanded their culinary skills during two hands-on cooking classes led by Dee Furlough, proudly represented Tyrrell County 4-H at the National 4-H Shooting Sports Championships in Grand Island, Nebraska, and demonstrated their public speaking abilities at District Activity Day at Edgecombe Community College. The month wrapped up with members picking up turkey poults as they began preparing for the Youth Market Turkey Show at the NC State Fair.
Tyrrell County 4-H'ers enjoyed a fun and educational field trip to Hardly Farm, where they learned about forestry and alpaca care while exploring the farm and connecting with nature.
Tyrrell County 4-H'ers had an unforgettable experience at Betsy-Jeff Penn 4-H Center in Reidsville, NC, where they built leadership skills, explored the outdoors, made new friends, and created memories that will last a lifetime!

July Highlights
July is shaping up to be an equally active and enriching month for our members, offering a wide range of educational experiences. Youth will learn to make quilts under the guidance of Mrs. Susie Swain; tour the Battleship Wisconsin; and visit the Virginia Zoo, Lizard Land, the Khan Planetarium, and Sylvan Heights. Members will also participate in 4-H Electric Congress in Boone, NC, and NC 4-H Congress in Raleigh, NC, in addition to attending overnight camp at the Eastern 4-H Center in Columbia, NC.
Together, these experiences reflect a season of growth, exploration, and achievement for our 4-H members as they continue building skills, confidence, and lasting memories through hands-on learning opportunities.
